Masks for wedding

I am supposed to be getting married Nov 8th in Orlando, Fl. The cases are spiking again and my county has now required face masks until further notice. I am at a complete loss on whether I should try to re schedule or just roll with the punches? I really do not want to wear a face mask on my wedding...

What is everyone’s opinions on wearing a mask at their wedding?

Everybody at my wedding, including us, will be required to wear a mask. I think it is important to document what we went through during this time in history. I also need to protect high risk family members and elderly family members that we want there. Will it suck? Probably, but I think it's worth it so we can have the most important people there.

I would roll in with the punches and be prepared to tell every guest close to time maybe on the invites mask are required. Until then just watch out and wait closer to time

I am completely fine if any guests/ wedding party even want to wear masks! I was everyone to feel safe. I would even be okay with wearing one at times. I just do not want to wear one while walking down the isle/ at the alter/ in pictures. I think mandating masks will be a good thing overall and I have been wearing one for two months now when I go out. I just don’t want to wear one in those moments 😢 thank you for your input!!

I am completely fine with my guests and even my bridal party wearing masks! And I would even be okay with wearing one at the reception. I just don’t want to wear one while walking down the isle/ at the alter/ and in photos. I wouldn’t even mind wearing It in some photos. I just don’t want every single one with my fiancé in a mask. Thank you!!

I am completely fine with guests and even the bridal party wearing masks! I encourage It if that makes them feel/ keeps the safe. I just don’t want to wear one while walking down the isle, at the alter, and in every single photo. I would want ones with my fiancé without It. But same about the masks! I live in Osceola which mandated them a while back, so I have and most people I encounter have been wearing them. But I work in Orange County and maybe 5%, if that, wear them!

I’m from Illinois and they are still requiring us as well to wear them. My wedding we invited maybe 100/110 people nothing rather large we did have a decrease in the number of people effected by COVID 19, luckily they have put us close to phase 4 which here that means groups of 50 but face masks still required mines September ! I know the struggle but throwing this out I will not walk down my isle in a face mask !

You definitely won't have to wear a mask in every picture. Masks are for when you can't socially distance from people who aren't in your immediate household. So, you and your groom can be together without masks, six feet from your photographer, and be totally safe. For pictures with other people, you just need to decide how comfortable you are being around people and how comfortable they are being around you. I'm in MA which was hit pretty hard initially. We postponed our reception but we're still getting married and having a small reception this year. We've already seen both sets of our parents and siblings since this started, so I'd probably be okay with having unmasked pictures taken with them (probably not as close together as people usually are at weddings), but I'll probably wear a mask in any photos with my grandparents because I'm more concerned about protecting them.

Our wedding is also for August in Maryland. No updates on masks on our end other than we’re asking the servers wear them. Where is your wedding?

Hey! That’s good news. We just don’t want our dream wedding ruined by masks as selfish as that sounds. If people want to wear them we won’t stop them but we want them to have the choice. I refuse to wear one on my wedding day

It's a little early to make the call but I would put it in my shopping cart just to be on the safe side. Our wedding in September and I'm planning on purchasing them for our guest & bridal party.

We are coming up in October. I think my fiance's grandma is going to make me a cute bride mask. If masks are mandatory by then i will probably provide masks for guests. I will most likely not wear one down the isle or for pictures but put on for the reception. Maybe get cute ones that say bride and groom. It also helps that our venue is outdoors. If you cant fathom rescheduling (which i cant) then embrace the mask it is!

We’re also Antrim!!!! The weekend before you. They seem really optimistic and have been really great. The stationary stations during cocktail hour like the cheese station are now going to be served instead of self serve. Their capacity is 140 at half capacity and our list is 160. I don’t think we’ll get everyone though especially with COVID. Where did you hear that in August they will be lifting the capacity limit? I surely hope so. From what I hear, their first wedding is supposed to be next weekend but I’m not sure. I just can’t reschedule again. I can’t physically go through it but I’m so so torn. I want it to just be over with by now - but I’m so worried about people “judging us for having it”.

Yea I will say I’ve been super nervous but I agree they are optimistic. Yea we’re looking at about 200 right now but we did just send out our invitations on Friday. We were holding off until we had some idea what was happening. My weeding planner has been talking to them and other venues and a lot of places believe we’ll be in phase 3 in July sometime. So we haven’t “officially” heard from them but it seems promising. Yea honestly it’s been such a rollercoaster. I think people will just have to be understanding. I’m going to have my wedding planner reach out to them the first week in July and see what is going on.
