Marrying a police officer

Kristin , on April 10, 2018 at 4:46 PM Posted in Planning 1 10
Hi!! After 5 years I am finally marrying my other half 😋 he had just graduated from the police academy when we got together and he then spent 4 years as a police officer and we just moved a month ago so he could transfer to a sheriffs department. He loves what he does and I love being a part of the law enforcement life so we want to encorporate law enforcement in our wedding. It will be in November of this year. We don’t want a full police wedding... it’s going to be in a outdoor/farm setting so it will be rustic and country decor. But we want some subtle police vibes because of what he does and the fact that many of our guests are in law enforcement. We have a sign going out front that says “it’s not a party til the cops show up” and the groomsmen will be entering to the cops theme song “bad boys” to give a laugh. My garter will also be thin blue line related.
Does anyone else have any other ideas??
thank you!

How precious! I love this! maybe doing your getaway grand exit in a cop car? It would be corky and kind of fun/funny. Donuts would be punny as well! Having “ring security” rather than a ring bearer would be cute too!

Your invitations can be a "summons to appear." If you're having a photo booth, you can have a police line-up backdrop. I love the donuts idea from @Michelle. You can also have a cop "cake topper."

I love those ideas!! We did think about doing our exit in a police car but our venue is like an hour and a half out of the county he work in so they don’t want him bringing his car so far out. The other ideas are cute! Thanks!!

A couple ways to incorporate it would be a grooms cake, cake topper, finger print guestbook, mug shot photo booth. Pinterest has some cute ideas!

Too funny! I just posted the police wife garter I am getting, and we recently moved as he got in full time with a department.

    Congratulations!!!

Etsy has a lot of wedding cake toppers that are police related, I attached one that I had saved. I have also seen custom made toppers that you can submit photos for.

My cousin (who is as close as a sister) is an officer and so is her husband. Instead of doing a traditional handfasting the officiant cuffed them to each other and said "I sentence you to a life of love, support, and happiness!"

It was so memorable that he recognized them at my wedding and gave them hugs and kisses. He said it was his favorite handfasting!
