Marriage Licenses

Michelle, on April 30, 2020 at 5:28 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8

I know this is a small victory, but our County (Ventura here in California) has FINALLY started issuing marriage licenses again! Our wedding is still planned for June 20th, and we were already planning a "micro"wedding with 35 people to begin with. We don't know if we'll be able to have our reception as we planned to have it at a restaurant. But for now, I"m just happy that I have an appointment to get the licenses. Again it's all about the small victories. Good luck to all of you our there.

My wedding date is June 20 also, in Simi Valley, but I postponed for next year. I don't want to a micro wedding, and I want to be able to have my bridal shower and bachelorette in Vegas. All things that will not be happening before my original wedding date. I want to be able to dance and hug and take pictures with all my guests, but I'm glad this scenario is going to work for you.

Yay!!!! So happy for you! I'm just curious as to how long is your marriage license is good for in CA? It's only 30 days in TX ,so we have 10 more days before we can apply for ours. Getting antsy over here!

Congratulations! So happy for you. We share the same wedding date. There are a few counties in Northern California that reopened too. Thank goodness! The FH and I pick up our license next Thursday. I’m not sure I want to do a micro wedding but we’re getting married on 6/20 for sure.
