Marriage license

Hello how have people in Los Angeles or anywhere else obtained a marriage license. I know that many of the regristar offices are closed. I had someone who I talked to on one the website tell me I can do it online, and pay for it or call them. When I called someone online, they said that I can't. Does anyone who in going through this same situation, have any advice ?

There are certain notaries who are able to issue private marriage licenses. Unfortunately, I do not have any contact information for any of them. However, do note that a private license is different than a public license in that only you or your future spouse will ever be able to obtain copies of the license (any future children, etc. would not be able to obtain copies).
