Totally depends on your state. Try googling your state plus marriage license and see if there’s a waiting period before applying, if medical testing is required, and how long a license will be valid before marriage.

It will depend on your state! I would google or call your county clerk. In some states you can get it 3+ months before the wedding and in some states you can only get it a week before your wedding.

We are getting married in North Carolina and we can get our license 60 as long as we are married in 60 days . We are 41 days away from our wedding now and we got ours this week

Hey Jasmine! Congrats on your upcoming wedding--right around the corner! As Samantha on this thread mentioned, when to get your marriage license largely depends on your state. If you're getting married in the US, look no further, because our team at WeddingWire already did all the research for you. Check out this article breaking down marriage laws by state: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-ideas/marriage-laws-by-state

Definitely beware the waiting period too! In Texas you have to wait 3 days before you can use your license.

Definitely check the article from Lauren on the laws in your state! We're in South Carolina and got our license a week or two before the wedding, but we could've gotten it much sooner since SC licenses don't expire.
