Marriage License Anywhere?

Robyn, on April 12, 2020 at 6:12 PM Posted in California Planning 0 2
My dad is a pastor and would be able to officiate a wedding for me and my fiancé over zoom because we still want to keep our date. I'm 3 months pregnant right now so I postponed our ceremony and reception to a year from the original date.

Anyone have any luck getting a license? I was told that certain notaries are able to give them out.

Hi Robyn! I just saw a few other California brides talking about the same thing in this discussion:

California marriage license during shelter in place

In some states Notaries can officiate weddings, but I'm not sure if they can procure the marriage license. I'd start calling some near you ASAP!

Great news Robyn! I don't know if you've seen the updates, but the Orange County Recorder is opening up for wedding licenses and drive up weddings! You need to make an appointment and fill out your paperwork online, but this may help everyone who is interested in getting their licenses (and/or getting married!). OC Marriage Services
