My fiancé and I planned to get married on Monday 11/11 but the Court house will be closed due to Veterans Day. If we say our vows and have witnesses on Monday can we still be legally married on Monday even if we go to the courthouse Tuesday? Can they backdate it and put 11/11?

    The court house will no change a date of record for the typical person. You may have to hunt around for any officiant who will do your marriage. Depending on the state, you may get some other marriage arrangement.

    Unfortunately, no. We actually had planned to get married on 11/11 at the courthouse as well, but they were closed for Veterans Day. Legally, they must put the date you took your vows in front of the officiant on your marriage license.
