Mark Who Is on The Guest List

Kaitlyn, on February 5, 2020 at 4:36 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

Hello. My fiance and I are planning our wedding on the lawn at the college campus where we met. A permit is required to serve alcohol and specifies that only invited and of age guests may be served. The bartender will be checking IDs but the police department of the campus is concerned that it will be hard to keep uninvited guests from receiving alcohol. I am looking for a way to "mark" who is on the guest list or section off the area without taking away from the wedding.

Could you give the bartender a copy of your guest list so that when they check IDs, they can also check to make sure that person is an invited guest?

Some weddings do drink tickets or wristbands for the bar. At a sign in table you can have someone do that but I'm not sure how smoothly it'll go if run like that.

I think a wristband is probably the best idea. Then people don’t have to keep taking out their IDs too

I agree that wristbands would be a gold idea.

I would give all of your of age guests wristbands so that there is no questioning who is allowed to be served. It would also help the bartender to keep the drinks flowing without having to check lists and ID's for ever drink order. You can even have them custom made!

I agree that wristbands would be the easiest way to keep track!

This is a great idea, too, because it keeps anyone from just wearing a colored wrist band that matches in the hopes of getting in! LOL I can just see some college kid going, "What color are their bands? They're green! I have a green wristband!" Smiley xd

That was my exact thoughts because I have done that for a concert venue by me lol. They had free concerts but you had to be 25 to get in but you could come and go once you got a wristband so I bought a bunch of different colors so I could take them and see which color they were using and put it on myself lol.
