marching band brides?

Megan, on January 9, 2013 at 6:25 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

So FH was a HUGE band geek in high school playing the bass drum and is still in love with it now. Since I can't get him to wear a flower boutinniere I am trying to come up with other ideas. Anyone have any ideas and/or pictures of bass drum/drumstick boutinneres and where I can find stuff to make them. Been trying to research google but haven't found much

This sounds awesome, especially since I was a band geek (still am!) and had a thing for drummers! I tried searching Etsy but didn't find anything. Sounds like a fun DIY project though!

Omg, I'd better not let Jess see this post!! Lol she would be ALL over the drumsticks, she played and marched too. She hasn't had any objections to my boutonnieres and I'd like to keep it that way lol! It would be a totally interesting idea to try to incorporate some mini-drumsticks for her though. I can't seem to find any the size I'm thinking to buy, but I bet I could make some with a wooden dowel and sandpaper and a small bead for the tip. I'll let you know if I try or find anything!

Yeah Adam is 100% against wearing a boutonniere but I am hoping if I find something that will spark his interest that I can get him to wear one even if its not flowers. He has a very girlie/metro side of him and the one thing I want him to wear he says its too girlie lol

I would try and find a pin/brooch that you like and fix it up into a "bout"!

If they don't have one, I'm sure they can make one.

Check your local music stores for pins that have a drum theme. You can also look online. If you can find something big enough, you could use it in place of a bout or you could attach it to a bout.
