Depends on what part of AZ you're looking in, how my sq ft, how many bedrooms, and you have to take into consideration rentals. Table rentals, chair rentals, dinnerware rentals, linen rentals, glassware rentals, etc. I know someone who could find you a mansion to rent for the weekend, but you're looking at $5,000+ to start.

It could be in Scottsdale or Phoenix. I wouldn't know how many sq. I'm guessing just big enough for 160 people. Wedding would be in August or September of 2016.

I'm in that area and I looked into renting a big house to use as a wedding venue and it ended up costing much more than I could afford. Usually they require you rent it for a minimum of maybe three days and then like Alexis said you have to rent chairs and tables and all that. Now that I look back at the timing of your wedding maybe you could get a good deal because it's during summer. Actually any venue in the valley would probably give you a discounted price because of that

10k for the venue or for everything? What do you want the 10k to cover?

Honestly, if you want to get info and compare prices you need to be googling it and using the WW vendor tools. Also, add the area in the topic title so brides from that area will see it.

Yea you can't rent a mansion for that little. By mansion, I'm assuming you mean someone's 20,000 Sq ft home with like... 8 bedrooms, etc. Most don't allow weddings too because they're not a venue. They don't want to risk your guests breaking their things and you'd need a noise permit for music after a certain time.

I don't think you're going to find a mansion in that budget to rent for only a night. VRBO has many beautiful homes to rent (I rented one in Paradise Valley for the wedding, 20 people, $4000 for one week, and 6 people will be staying there). I looked at some truly extravagant places there but to rent it for enough time to have a wedding, you would be looking at as much as $30,000 or more. The biggest problem with this idea is that virtually no one wants there to be 160 people in their home. Plumbing can't handle it, not enough parking, and vendors have to be constantly coming and going - it's not practical.

There are some ideas though! All is not lost Smiley smile Have you looked into corporate rentals for houses? Those places cater to far more people so you may have some luck!

My most helpful piece here is look at HomeAway and VRBO and don't be afraid to barter with the home owners to get a price you believe is fair. Best of luck and many congratulations! Smiley smile

    Check out http://pricehousefoundation.org/

They host weddings/events here all the time. Not sure if it's your style but the property is iconic for anyone that's into architecture.

You probably won't be able to accomplish this for 10,000 for 160. Not in prime season, not for a wedding (very often the rental price is far different than renting a house for 6 for a week, for all the reasons Sam posted.

Your rental would probably be (at the very least) 3,000, which leave you 7000.00 for food, staff, liquor and rentals. That's less than 50 bucks per person. Not even including taxes and grats.

    Not happening.

Something like this would work: https://www.vrbo.com/285321 BUT They say no weddings, no exceptions! Basically, homeowners have been screwed so many times by having these huge weddings there. It's just not going to work. Better off choosing a venue that actually accommodates 160, or drastically slashing that guest list.

For our wedding of 20, a home works fine. Any more than that and it is a sloppy mess and you can kiss your security deposit goodbye.

For a wedding of that size in Scottsdale, that time of year, I'd take a leap of faith and have an outdoor ceremony. Boojum Tree is beautiful, and so is the Japanese Friendship Garden. You should scrap the mansion idea because simple things like parking would be a nightmare (where exactly are 80 cars going to go?) Your wedding will definitely be more fun and memorable at a place that can accommodate a lot of guests. And the guests will have more fun in a stress-free environment. And honestly, when you add in all the costs of doing it at a home, you're gonna save yourself a lot of scratch in the meantime Smiley smile Good luck doll!

I looked at having a wedding at a house or estate, and even though you're in the off peak season, I don't think you'll find something in your budget. Almost every house I found wouldn't allow over 40 people, or it was around $5k to rent out the place to begin with. Of all the mansions that are actually wedding venues, Stonebridge Manor is probably your best bet.

You can check out Z Mansion in Tucson if you're willing to travel. They are some what all inclusive, but you can't stay there. The family that owns it lives there. They rent it for weddings.
