Man-made/Simulated Diamonds

Does any one have man-made or simulated diamonds in their ring? Would you be offended if your FH proposed with anything other than real diamonds?

I'm trying to convince him, but he's not budging! I guess I won't know until he actually pops the question. Oh the agony!

I have a neutral colored sapphire, and it is exactly what I wanted. We did not have the money to get a nice diamond, and I did not want to settle for a poor quality diamond just to say I have a diamond. While there is nothing wrong with diamond (or whatever anyone wants...), I also have a HUGE problem with the industry. If he has his heart set on something then just let him do it, but maybe try to explain all the amazing things you could get with the extra money you didn't spend on a diamond? Find some examples of moissanite or gemstone engagement rings? Mine is not traditional, but it still looks very engagement ring-y.

My fiance was relieved that I did not want him spending tons of money on a ring and that I showed him exactly what I wanted, but every couple is going to be different. Figure out what is right for both of you. Regardless, I am sure your future ring will be gorgeous!

How long have you had it? Does it look cloudy at all? And are they legit because I’ve heard that heir stones are just cubic zirconia.

My diamond is lab made. Lab made diamonds are still diamonds and it is very hard for even professionals to tell the difference. My fiance was able to up my diamond to a whole carat because lab made is cheaper. I don't care one bit.

Hate to tell you, but diamonds don’t equal love. If someone gets “offended” because their fiancé proposed with anything less than a diamond- that person has to get their priorities in order. A diamond does mean he loves you more. Good luck. Gemstone rings are gorgeous. I have a blue sapphire and I love it. Diamonds are boring. Want a valuable stone- get a tanzanite. They are more valuable than diamonds. And much more beautiful and interesting.

Seriously, this is my second marriage and we originally picked out nice rings. had not bought and then I was thinking about all the money being spent. I had a gorgeous diamond the first time and a really crappy marriage. I am literally buying a $49.99 1.5 ct Diamonique from QVC. Every girl should go with her heart on ring/stone choice. Personally, I am more vested in my man than a piece of jewelry and that is NOT to be offensive. I am just older (51) and simply do not care at my age. You young brides..just go with your hearts on this.

My ring is Moissanite and I adore it. It has a rainbow sort of refraction so it has extra sparkle.

Here's my moisanite wedding ring, and my ring next to a bunch of diamond rings. You can't even tell the difference 😉
