Making Skin Tone Even on Body

Janeen, on December 23, 2014 at 12:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 9

Does anyone have suggestions for a lotion or body balm or something for evening out skin tone on your chest? I'm very very very pale, so freckles and redness show up very easily on me, and while my face is easily handled with makeup, I don't really want to put on body makeup (dress transfer). I'm also not going to do any kind of spray tanning of any kind (I can't stand the smell and it always looks orange to me). So....is there a lotion or body balm or something that handles the redness that shows up on my chest?

I use Jergens Natural Glow and it works very well...it's a lotion and doesn't take much. Just rub it in well deep and even, and I've never had orange problems. It lasts for a couple days and does a nice job.

Does it leave a demarcation line to your neck? I don't want to put any fake tan anything on my face.

I use L'oreal Revitalift Face Lotion with a splash of liquid foundation to make my own tinted moisturizer. You can control the color (add more lotion for lighter, add more foundation for darker) and I've never had it come off on anything. I use it on my face, neck, and chest. It has SPF in it and apparently wrinkle prevention? Guess we'll see in a few years. Its pretty pricey, but I'm sure any lotion would do!

Side note, I hate the smell of Jergen's so definitely whatever you decide make sure you do some test runs in the next few weeks

Thanks...I can try both in the next couple of weeks. The other problem is that I sweat a lot. This is why fake tan stuff generally doesn't go so hot on me lol.

SAME! I used the tinted moisturizer trick during volleyball season when our games would be televised and i was a HUGE sweater. I wore it with white jerseys and as long as I didn't wipe my face with my jersey my chest/neck/face was fine (usually patted with a towel during timeouts and it still didn't come off unless I rubbed). You can buy pre-made tinted moisturizer but the coloring was never right for what I wanted. When I wore dresses I could make the top of my collarbone darker with this and it made them look more defined

Since it is a lotion I just rubbed it in with a gradual edge. Didn't notice any lines. One thing, though, is to make sure you wash your hands afterwards, or else you'll have very darkly tanned hands! As far as sweating, I found that as long as the lotion had had a few minutes/half hour to really soak in there was no issue.

Jergens natural glow also gets my vote, they have one for the face also if you wanted to try it so you don't have a line.
