Hey everyone, I just bought my dress last week which was amazing but I obviously always dreamed of having everyone there with me like a movie montage where my friends are either going, "😃👍" or "😕👎" but that couldn't happen. So I googled ideas on how to make the experience special and feel normal again but google and pinterest were useless so I just wanted to share some of my ideas that someone else might benefit from!
1) Skype was a useful tool to use. I had everyone make an account that was linked to their phone number so I could easily add them to a group named "dress shopping!" And once everyone was added to the group, I scheduled a video call with the group. Once they accepted the invite, it reminded them 5 minutes before the call to join. Easy! P.S. remind everyone to have a mimosa or seltzer on hand to celebrate the one!2) I tried screen recording the Skype call so that I could look over everything again. Unfortunately, the Pixel that I have just added screen recording and it stopped after 24 minutes 😑 but I still got some good stuff. 3) Bring a bluetooth speaker with you! I should have. I couldn't hear much that my friends were saying bc the phone speaker is only so loud and the boutique had music playing. My MOH relayed everyone's thoughts to me though 😊4) Once you're decided on a dress, have everyone send a photo/video/boomerang of them doing a cheers motion to the camera and make a cute collage. Just cause you can't cheers in person doesn't mean you can't do it virtually! 5) With the footage I got screen recording, I was able to make a gif collage of us talking about the dresses. 6) Create a shared photo album with pictures/screenshots that everyone took to relive everything! Even though it wasn't what I envisioned, I had a great time and felt overwhelming love from my amazing support system. I can't seem to post a picture of the gif I created but lmk if you want to see it & I can try to figure something out. Hope someone benefits from some of these ideas or could even apply it to bridal showers, bachelorette parties, etc. Stay safe & stay positive!
