Making centerpieces

Julia, on January 28, 2020 at 1:40 PM Posted in Style and Décor 2 17
I am looking to see if any of you made your own centerpieces for your wedding reception or if you ordered them and what would be the more ideal way of going?

I'm DIY'ing our centerpieces! They're going to be a wood slice with a rose gold wine bottle filled with baby's breath, a black or white lantern (our venue has both so we'll alternate throughout the tables), and a picture frame painted rose gold with the table number in it Smiley smile

Here are some of my inspiration pictures with the picture of our table number template!

Those are super cute! Are you going to use real or fake flowers?

All artificial flowers! It's been a lot more budget friendly than hiring a florist. Flowers weren't one of our biggest priorities, so fake flowers were the best choice for us Smiley smile

We are DIYing. This is what our plans include. We have some glittery tings/sprigs going to come out of the tops of the wine bottles. And the cans are going to be different sizes. Black with an ombre glitter effect.
We are spending 30 dollars and 8 hours for 30 tables. So I'm not mad about it. Plus I dislike flowers and it's reusing so that's cool.Making centerpieces 4

I did my own. I think the one thing about doing your own is transporting them and storing them is a hassle.

My test run. I won’t be using those flowers I will use sunflowers, baby’s breath and a white flower...maybe mums. And the candles are missing. My first attempt is the first pic. The last 2 is with everything I was missing in the first pic and less clutter on the table. Making centerpieces 6

I made my own and my florist just added the greenery around the vases. It was simple and easy but very pretty. Making centerpieces 9

We are making the majority of our's but our Florist is going to set everything up for us and fill in with her floral arrangements. Our guest table arrangements will include a floral arrangement, pillar candle in a vase, art deco table number and white ceramic birds.

We're making ours. We just purchased flowers and vases at Dollar Tree and got the floating candles on Amazon. It was way cheaper than purchasing similar items through Etsy, as we needed 21 of them. Haven't made them yet but they'll be something like these:

I did a little bit of both. I requested the Etsy vendor who made my bouquet/corsages/boutonnieres to put together flowers I could arrange in mason jars that I decorated (wrapped in burlap/lace & with fairly lights inside). I've got linen squares color coordinated to the flowers that the centerpieces will go on, with little wooden heart table scatter to go around the jar.

I'm loving the eco approach. I would never have thought of sparkly cans before, but I am now. Smiley winking

We made ours with flowers from TJ Maxx/Walmart, and chalice candle holders from Hobby Lobby. They were perfect! I think it came to about $25 each.
