How far in advance should you book makeup and hair? And how much should I look at spending for myself, 2 bridesmaids and 2 moms max?

I’m not getting married until March 2021 but have already booked mine.
It’s $130 a person for hair and makeup but my bridesmaids and my mom/MIL will be paying for themselves. The makeup also includes airbrush foundation, fake lashes and touch ups as needed. I also live in Houston so price will vary where you are too.

I booked a year out. I paid $150 for hair and $125 for makeup. A trial would’ve been $90 per service. Bridesmaids and other people were $90 per service as well. That seems to be about the average based on what I’ve seen.

I just hired a hair and makeup artist this month because they are in high demand and it’s a small business, and I am getting married November 2021. It really depends on if you fall in love with a specific hair and makeup person when you start looking. I would say if you are planning on doing trials you should do them the earliest possible because I know some hair and makeup artists book up almost a year in advance. I didn’t do a trial prior to booking because my artists don’t do them until you book, because they have a lot of inquiries. I had dozens of pictures of their style and a whole portfolio with a hundred 5-star reviews. So when to hire is really about your comfort level and if you want a trial first before you book the dates (just to note trials do cost $$ though so only book trials for people you are really interested in). As far as price, it obviously varies. But I would say a good amount of hair and makeup people require a minimum to hire service, example: bride + 4 friends/bridesmaids. So, that is something to keep in mind! Hope that helps.

For my Hair and makeup it's 100$ each ( 200 total for me) with the Owner and 85$ each ( 170$ for me) with one of her associates. My party and parents are 75$ each ( 125$ for both services). I'm also a midwest bride so coastal brides may vary in cost as well.

It also depends on going with a professional or someone building their resume.

I booked my HAMU artist about 8 months in advance. I’m also getting HAMU for myself, 2 bridesmaids, and 2 moms. I’m in the Philly area so keep that in mind when comparing prices. My artist had a package system where you could get less done (less time on HAMU) for less $$ so we did that.
    Prices are as follows:
    Bride HAMU: $190 + $100 trial = $290BM HAMU: $135 (x2) = $270Mom HAMU: $85 (x2) = $170Total = $730 for 5 women
I found this stylist on IG and then found her WW profile. I’d advise checking out thumbtack too. Feel free to ask any questions!
