Makeup/foundation suggestions for mature skin

FutureMrsBrock, on August 20, 2017 at 11:07 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

Anyone have any suggestion on brands of foundation to try? I'm in my 40's and have fair, oily-ish skin and some wrinkles. The ones I've tried have either not covered enough or looked cakey. I'm going to sephora this week to try some more. Anyone with "mature" skin have a brand they love ?

I am in my late 30's and have some discoloration and also have some wrinkles around my eyes and forehead. I use stila foundation and Two Faced powder and I also use Becca. They are All medium to full coverage.

I've heard Clinique is amazing for mature skin. I used it a few years ago in my early 20s-per my mom's recommendation-and it was great.

ETA: In some instances, the right primer could keep oils at bay for many hours, if not almost all day. Also, you could always pick up a color corrector and use that under your foundation in whatever spots you're looking to correct (the drug store even has some decent ones that would be worth dabbling in before splurging if that's the route you decide to take).

I'm going to go try the Stila actually myself after payday. I have Bare Minerals (powder and liquid) and I'm just not thrilled with it. I'm so glad this post came up!

I use loreal infallible with a light matte powder from them on top. Luminess is great too.

Check out Sephora branded liquid foundation - it's very light and has great coverage.

Stay away from powder foundations. You need a good foundation brush as well as a good blending sponge. There are a lot of brands that will suit you, you just have to find one that you like, but your tools will make a difference.

I've heard IT Cosmetics has some great foundations for mature skin. If you have an Ulta Beauty near you I'd go there and ask a consultant.

Go to Mac, it's your best bet. IT, bare minerals, Clinique all have ingredients that will cause you to look washed out in your photos (it reflects light and makes you ghostly). False lashes make a huge difference, and learn to do your eyeliner in a tightline
