Makeup trial... worth it?

I think it is worth it. I do not wear make up on a regular basis (special occasions only) so I really need to see the look and if it works on me with enough time to give feedback if it doesn't.

100%, I've seen some baadddd trials on here. Gives you a chance to work out exactly what you want.

It was worth it for me--i don't wear much makeup normally so i wanted to make sure i felt comfortable with my look. i timed it so i had the trial for my shower which was an evening cocktail party, so i got some extra wear out of it.

Definitely worth it. Just because they are good with hair, doesn't necessarily mean you will love their make up style.

I think its worth it, as a PP said with a trail, you find out what works and doesn't work for you.

Totally worth it! You want to make sure they can create the look you want, even if you've seen pictures of their work. Maybe you can schedule the trial on a day that you have another event to attend so you feel like you're getting the most out of your money.

Totally worth it. Prior to my trial I had no real idea of what I wanted my wedding makeup to look like. After sitting down and talking to the MUA we were able to figure out what I wanted and then proceeded to show what it would look like.

Considering I had 3 trials until I was happy with the look - yes it is worth it!!

Worth it! If it's on the pricey side maybe do it on a day where the makeup won't "go to waste" ya know?
Maybe for your bridal shower, bach party, if you're getting anymore more pictures taken, etc

Totally worth it. What I thought I wanted didn't look great on me. Doing the trial enabled us to make changes in advance instead of having to take more time to get ready the day of.

For all the same reasons you got a hair trial is why you do a makeup trial. You felt the hair trial necessary so...

I "won" a free makeup trial with a local Mary Kay rep. I've been pushing it off since she wants to come to my house. I work full time, have 2 kids (age 6y &1y) and my weekends are my time to get things done. I've been wondering if I should just do it or is it another way to "corner me into a sale".

I'm doing one this time around...as I don't usually wear makeup and I was really shocked and unsettled seeing myself in "heavy" makeup for my first wedding. (Which in hindsight was actually pretty light and looked perfect in pictures)

It is 100% worth it. I had an awful first trial with a MUA who had beautiful photos in their portfolio. You need to know for a fact that they can successfully create the look you have in mind, and it's also important to work with them beforehand so you know how open they are to changing things to meet your needs. The last thing you want is to ask for a change on your wedding day and have them argue with you about it.

Yes definitely do one! This way you can figure out what you want for the day of or whether you need to find another makeup artist.

The trials are so worth it! Ask to see their photos, and see if they IG their work. Ask what why've done makeup for-it was important to me that my MUA had more experience with weddings time crunch than solely working at a makeup counter, you know?
