Makeup Opinions?

Makeup Opinions? 1

Makeup Opinions? 2

I had my makeup trial over the weekend, and I'm not sure how I feel. I am someone who never wears anything more than some eyeshadow and eyeliner, so full face makeup is a little strange to me. From family reactions, most say to shorten the false lashes or get rid of them altogether. I'm unsure of the lip color. Leave it as is or go for something different? And I am going to ask the makeup artist to tone down the application of the other makeup as well, including eye shadow and face makeup.

With all these possible changes, should I do another trial, or can these be done the day of?

Any thoughts on any of this? Thanks!

You look gorgeous!!! If you don’t wear a lot of makeup I do think training the eyelashes down would help (I would keep because your eyes stand out beautifully). I wouldn’t mind a slightly stronger lip color: strong pink or coral?

Looks gorgeous! You could try a more natural lash that’s not too full if you want to tone it down, though I do like the lashes as they are. And I second a more poppy color for the lip. Deeper nude would go with your shadow.

I'm the same way with not wearing much makeup on a daily basis and I didn't feel comfortable with the long eyelash extensions. I think makeup artists are more used to people who use a lot of makeup regularly, and sometimes don't take into consideration about what you typically look like. Did you talk to your makeup artist about it? There are also partial lashes that you can use to make them appear fuller or get some shorter lashes. When I didn't like mine at the trial, I spoke up and they changed the look. If I were you, I would either do another trial with the same person or find someone else who has a vision more similar to what you're looking for. It's ultimately up to what you want and feel comfortable with.

I also don’t wear makeup like EVER. But I am really excited to get super dolled up for mine. I’m not sure what face makeup there is to tone down? Outside of shorter false eyelashes, your eyeshadow and rest of the face is already very toned down and on the more “natural” side. I can barely tell you have makeup on besides your eyes and eyebrows. I would suggest a stronger lip color maybe

Don’t be afraid to tell them how you feel! I usually do my own makeup and other peoples makeup (not as a job but family asks me for prom and stuff) and I’m going to be super picky when it comes to the makeup artist doing my makeup 😂 You look gorgeous though and everything looks great to me BUT I feel like you could go a little less with the face makeup! Your eyes looked so pretty even with the lashes 🤗Makeup Opinions? 3

I think your face makeup and eyeshadow look natural, and I like the lashes as well, but if there's something about it that bugs you then don't be afraid to ask. I do agree that a more colorful lip color would be fitting, especially considering how wedding dresses already tend to wash people out. You could try experimenting with some different colors and sending your ideas to your makeup artist to see if they'd be able to make an easy fix or if it would merit a new trial to see how it all goes together. If it's just shorter lashes and a different lip color then you probably don't need a whole new trial, but if you're thinking of going in a totally different direction then another trial may be a good idea.

If you're not used to wearing makeup then professional makeup can feel heavy. You just a little while to get used to it. Honestly, I think the makeup is very natural looking. I don't see anything that needs to be toned down. Your eyes are stunning! It looks like she just enhanced your natural beauty, which is what a good makeup artist should do. I would see if she could do shorter eyelashes rather than get rid of it completely if you aren't comfortable with those. They really do enhance the eyes. I agree, a little color on the lips would be better. Definitely share your feelings with your makeup artist. It's crucial to looking and feeling like your most beautiful self.

Very pretty! To give more pizazz, I would go for more color in either the eye shadow or lip.

Agree with lots of the ladies above - I think your makeup looks really beautiful and very natural as is! In fact, I absolutely love the eyeshadow they've done on you and the rest of your face is so so natural that you can't even tell that you've got makeup on (in a good way). It probably feels off to you because you're not used to wearing a lot of makeup. I could see maybe using slightly shorter false lashes, but I would definitely still wear falsies for fullness and a little length because they look so good in photos and help balance out the eyes with the eyeshadow. The only other thing I could personally see modifying is using a lipstick with a hint more color to it, but not too much - something like a pinky nude that is still soft, compliments your complexion, but gives a little more oomph with a bit more saturated color.

Your makeup will look so beautiful in pictures, and even though it might feel like a bit much at first in person, that's just the way wedding makeup goes... They do a little extra so that it can photograph well and stay on through the night. I think your modifications could potentially be pretty minimal, in which case I don't think you'd need to do another trial. But if you're looking to change more things, then you can look into doing another trial - sometimes people suggest scheduling it for the same day as another big event, like a bridal shower or rehearsal dinner.

Yes trim down the lashes abit and rosey checks with a red lip. Soft color palette on the eyes with alittle bit of smoke eye and just a touch under the eyes
