Makeup & hair

Hi Ladies,

So I’m on the hunt for hair and makeup artists and so far I have found a few I like but I get shock with how high their prices are. On average how much did you guys pay for hair and makeup together? Not including the trail.

I paid $100 for hair and $65 for makeup not including the trial. The makeup was heavily discounted because she was a long time friend who is just branching into bridal makeup and wanted to work on building her wedding portfolio so she charged me what she charges for regular makeup services.

That’s much cheaper than what I am getting quoted. I live in LA and every makeup/hair artist so far is charging at least $150+ per service and it does not include the trail.

First of all I hate to tell you this but one you're having a wedding so everything is going to be expensive. Number two you are having things in Los Angeles which I went there last year and loved the place but it is very expensive. I would say either look outside the LA area or check with your local Mac or Sephora as at least the ones in Florida you only spend about fifty bucks for makeup. In regards to hair it will depend on the design you are looking for. Sally if you say the word wedding the cost can be high. Also while this app is great I feel that they do not have every single vendor. Sometimes do a hashtag on Instagram and see what people post. You may find some good deals. Also, do you have any friends that recently got married because they would be the people to tap in regards to photography, hair and makeup, Etc.

Yeah I know I just have to accept the fact that anything in LA is going to be a bit over priced.

Lol yes. I love Los Angeles as does my fiance. I'm even looking into having an elopement ceremony there but yeah it can be pricey. Would you be able to look right outside of La may be a cheaper place like in Anaheim or something? A place not too far away from your Venue.

For makeup $125 for trial and $150 for day of, plus $100 for anyone else getting their makeup done. We went to a salon close to my house for hair. I have short hair so I didn’t do a trial (mistake lol) but I paid almost $300 for 6 of us. None of us wanted complicated updos and buns.

I’m in Orange County and I used KimandGlitter for hair and makeup for my wedding this past June. She services the OC and LA areas. I was charged $250 for hair, makeup, fake lashes, and unlimited trials (I did 2). Her bridesmaid pricing is dependent on how many girls you have, I had 6 and their hair, makeup, fake lashes, and trial was $60 each. I wasn’t charged a travel fee because at the time, she lived in the same city as me. She now lives in LA. I was quite impressed with the quality of her work for the price, and I appreciated that her application was light, but still had full coverage. It also wasn’t “cookie cutter” makeup, and she adjusted the eyeshadow color on every girl to ensure it complimented their skin tone. I linked her “glam” portfolio below because she used one of my wedding pictures there, but she has different portfolios for different styles.
