Make-up/lip color

Cheryl, on September 26, 2019 at 10:55 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 9
So for my wedding I am doing my own make-up. With our wedding being 5 hours out of town I am not able to have a trial run for makeup or hair. The photos attached are how I'm wanting to do my make up, we have having a small intimate, romantic outside wedding under a Gazebo. I'm just lost at good products that's within my budget (drug store things like cover girl are my go to). I'm also stuck on what color lip wear to use plus one that will last more than just 30 minutes. One photo is pretty close to how I will be doing my make up, the other is without any make up to show my hair color. In one pic it's a bit darker because I had just had it done, but plan to have it about that color.

Thank you!!! I was a bit rushed on that one, but I really like it. I think my lip stick was just a mix of 2 colors so Inreally want something that is going to last.

I like the color on your lips in the first picture but it looks smudged around the edges of your lips. I picked up a Sephora lip stain for $12 and mixed it with Revlon Colorstay Ultimate which cost about the same for the perfect shade. They last all day at work even with eating and drinking. I also swear by my new eyelid primer. My eye shadow really pops now. I have one from Milani and another from Urban Decay. Urban Decay also has the most amazing setting spray. Good luck and have fun trying out your look.

It probably was a little, I zoomed in and seen around the edges of my lips were I don't think I filled in all the way. I was on my way to my sisters funeral and she didn't get to see my weeding make up so I thought Id wear it so she could "see" it. Kind of morbid or weird I know, but it was comforting. I also talked to her about or wedding and showed her photos before we took her off life-support.

I LOVE my Urban Decay setting spray and eye shadow primer, I would be lost with out them. My eye lids get so oily and that is the only thing that I have found that really helps. The setting spray is called DE slick or Oil slick something like that and is for oily skin. I need to find a good primer that I like that is for the same skin type. I have a few that I have tried but some of them tends to make my face even more oily. I'm hoping since our wedding is in April that I won't be sweating as much (if any) so it would help a little with the oiliness.

I also signed up for a class that and Urban Decay rep is putting on at our local ULTA in Nov. They will teach you the fundamentals of make-up and applications and show you how to contour, blend, brows, and all kinds of stuff. I'm pretty excited to go to it.

I like the eyeshadow. BH Cosmetics is very affordable and can be found online or at Ulta. I love there matte liquid lipsticks. They last all day (unless you are eating something oily) and don't transfer. You can get a travel size Urban Decay all nighter spray at Ulta, and it's worth the price. If you want a more high end foundation but can't deal with the price, you can often get samples at Sephora and will often be enough for a day of makeup.

Thank you! The eye shadow was just a mix of 2 different colors. I think one may have even been the cheap LA colors. The UD is so worth it, its the one thing I actually splurge on because it is so good. I just read about Sephora giving out free samples this morning! I need to see if there is one close to us, if so I'll just turn it into a nice day trip soon.

I doesn't sound weird at all. I'm sorry for your loss.

I have a primer for my face that does well on my oily T-zone. It's a matte primer by Rimmel. I really like it. I still use my rice paper blotters but I find I only need them once throughout the day.

That does sound like fun. I just happened to walk into a Sephora, it's honestly a place I avoided because I just assumed everything was overpriced but the lady there was so helpful and I got good deals.

I bought my perfume from Sephora, I only wear it for special occasions because for a 3oz bottle it was $80! We walked through the one on the Vegas strip and my fiancé liked the perfume. I ended up going back in and buying it! If we weren't on vacation and I wanted to splurge on something I would have never bought it. Thank you for the primer suggestion I can use any I can get. In the next few weeks I plan on going to Sephora to check out a few things and ask about some samples.

If you can afford $60, and have an ulta near you they can do your make up with great products for $60 total! They have make up artist there! The issue with drug store makeup is that it doesn't hold up very well in a long day.
