Make Up

Belle, on March 26, 2020 at 1:35 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 8
Call me paranoid, but I am thinking to buy my own make up and ask the make up artist to use mine. Is that okay? I mean, should I ask my make up artist in advance?

I would at the very least ask her for some recommendations on brands and types of make up that would be best

In the state we are in, I don't think wanting to use your own product is a bad idea. I would however ask for her approval on product choice. If you come at her with a bunch of stuff she normally doesnt work with, then you may not look too great!

Yes. I should mention “Rona Era” 😔

Thank you. I will ask her.

Didn’t think of this before, but this is a great idea. Especially in the current environment we are living in. I do agree with PP, it would probably be in your best interest to ask the make up artist if she has certain products she prefers/is best at using.

Even before this whole virus, I was debating whether to bring some of my makeup because I have very sensitive skin. I’m not sure if you’re planning on doing a trial - I am. So I’m thinking of maybe bringing up the idea by email to my artist and see their thought. And then maybe bring my own makeup to the trial to see how they work with it?
    It’s mostly for foundation though.

Even before the virus, there are tons of brides that bring their own products. I think you know your own skin and which products are going to work best for you. Visit your local Macy's, Ulta, Sephora etc., and an esthetician can help you find products for your skin if you're not sure what to use!!

Seems totally fine to me. If I had a makeup artist I would’ve done that regardless, even without the covid-19 situation. In fact I just am uncomfortable with people touching my face to begin with so that’s a huge part of why I did my own makeup lol

As a certified MUA, I would say that it should be okay as long as your makeup artist is okay with it. The reason it can be an issue is because the products you provide might not be what they work with. For example, don't bring bb cream and expect a full coverage look. I definitley recommend running it by your makeup artist and getting advice on what products to purchase. Smiley shame
