Make Up Artist for Women of Color

It's not really any different in terms of make up, it's about owning a variety of shade ranges and identifying your tones to know what looks best on you. Any make up artist should be able to do it, as long as they own the right shades of the products. It's a matter of finding one that does and whose work you like. When you reach out to some, don't be afraid to ask for photos of their work on African American women. I get that question occasionally. If they have experience, they should have no trouble showing you.

When I was looking for my MUA, I made sure to look at their portfolios with a focus on seeing what the women of color looked like. I ended up choosing someone who's work I liked (based on their portfolio). I haven't signed the contract yet because I want a trial first. Hopefully it works out!

I did a search on a site I use to find vendors of african decent, I found my MUA there. This one is in the Bay area. She has some pictures online too.

Thank you all!! I appreciate everyone's comments. And even though the person may have all the shades its super important that they know how to blend colors well, because women of color tend to have uneven skin tones. I need an experienced MUA that will come to our hotel the day of.
