Make invites through Vista print look nice

TIFFANY, on November 14, 2016 at 8:33 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 27

So I ordered my invites through Vista print and I'm wondering if people order from there then make it look nice on their own. Should I make a nice elegant envelope for it to go into instead of the white envelope they come with? Have any of you done anything extra to yours? If you can post pics

I did not - I didn't feel it was necessary. I did consider putting a ribbon with a bow to combine the invite with the RSVP but I felt that was unnecessary

I added magnets to the back of my STD (they were one sided) and bought envelopes that I printed our information and address on using the Word template - they looked nice

I honestly didn't like visaprint, i just ordered from them because it was affordable. My mother kept telling me how thin the invitations are, but i didn't care, I sent them out anyway.

I don't think it was necessary to waist money and time just for invitations Smiley smile

I added a bow to each of mine, I just hole punched the top twice and looped a nice navy ribbon through it and tied a small bow I liked our Vistaprint invitations! We had a few people tell us how nice they looked, and I just think it's silly to waste money on something people are going to throw away.

I didn't do anything extra with my budgeting invitations. Honestly, they get thrown away. It wasn't a priority for me.

I just ordered my save the dates through vistaprint. My sister does really nice calligraphy, so I'm going to have her do the envelopes. If I end up ordering the invites through them, I will probably add ribbon or glitter to them on my own.

Invites/STDs was one of the things I decided to cut costs on (since it just goes in the trash anyway). So no, I just sent them out as they were, it was fine.

I originally worked with someone to design an invitation. She sent me samples, they were so-so in terms of cardstock weight and didn't appear as promised (raised lettering). I copied them to vista print and used their design service (it cost $5!). I am waiting on their samples to see the coloring (their customer service was a challenge, and you couldn't pick the paper color this way). My plan is to make them look nicer with a glitter paper background, a belly band, and a tag. Even doing this I still think I will save about $200. I found a lady on FB that will do calligraphy envelopes for .25 each because she wants to grow her portfolio......wish me luck! I do love your #1 invite-was that from their current choices?

I am a graphic designer, and I ordered my STDs on vistaprint as a postcard from scratch. I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I'm thinking of doing the same for my invitations or going to a local print shop.

I ordered my save the dates from there. I spent an extra couple bucks for the linen finish paper. They feel really good

Zazzle has some really nice envelopes, some come in different glitter colors if you wanted to spice those up.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was playing on VP yesterday. I find their interface challenging (compared to Wedding Paper Diva's), but I am being frugal.

My ceremony/reception are in a different location - some invitation styles offer a matching Reception invite and RSVP cards. While others don't. Do people put Reception details on the back of their flat VP? And then add in a generic RSVP card?

    HELP!

Cardsandpockets.com has lots of different colored envelopes and pockets for invites at a reasonable price. I think that would be an easy way to add a special touch to standard invites.
