Major Dress Regret.

I swear I have posted in here before about this, but with the count down getting closer (august 28) I am getting more and more anxious about my dress. I feel like I am having MAJOR dress regret. To make this short... we are eloping in the Sleeping Bear sand dunes in Michigan. Our absolute favorite spot. When I purchased my dress, or made my decision, I was just so over it. And ever since I have been debating on my dress I picked. I think my gown is beautiful, however, I keep seeing other brides in my same dress and I absolutely hate it. Crazy, right? Obviously it is not me in the dress, but for some reason I still hate it. Don't get me wrong, they look beautiful, and I can't put my finger on what the issue is with the gown. I don't know why I despise it.

In my mind, I am thinking if I absolutely hate this dress when I go for my final fitting on Thursday.. I will just pull the trigger and purchase another one. Also, I think that a lot of this stems from body/self image issues that I struggle with.

Below is some photos of my dress with me in it/of the dress. The long cathedral veil is similar to the one that I am going to be wearing, too. May take a minute for them to load in! If they do not show, the dress is the Melissa Sweet 3d Appliqué Sheath gown in Ivory. Click here for the dress that I purchased. This is option one for my backup and this is option two .

My first immediate thought on seeing the dress you bought, was OMG gorgeous! Personally I feel it has something special to it that stands out versus the backup dresses. The other dresses honestly lack something, and I didn't have an immediate reaction to them. They're pretty, but the dress you chose I think is definitely your dress! You look beautiful in it, the pic from the back looks like it hugs and enhances your body shape nicely, and honestly the tone in the material subtly makes it stand out.

YOUR DRESS IS STUNNING!! I honestly love it. I like it better than your backups. I had some dress regret and ended up buying a whole new dress, which was excessive but I could afford to do it so I did. If it's really bothering you then get another one, but I love your original choice.

I know exactly how you feel. I remember trying on my dress and loving it, but now the more I look at photos of other brides in it I don’t like it as much. I think you just have to hold onto the feeling you had when you tried it on and know that that is most likely how you’re going to feel again on Thursday. I think the dress you have looks beautiful on you! Someone already said this, but it’s very flattering on your shape. I personally am a huge fan of the 3D lace! It’s so pretty and delicate. I know it easier said than done, but try not to stress or overthink it Smiley smile

I have to look at other photos, but have you considered a little slip to puff the bottom out a bit? That could make all the difference. And it's totally gorgeous on you as it is!!! You're beautiful!!!

Thank you! I though about that, but part of me feels like it may ruin this dress. My evening dress for our dinner is very flowy with lots of tulle so I think I am going to stick this one out!

I totally understand! I have a trumpet with tulle. I just noticed that I felt self conscious until the skirt was a bit more bell shaped. You never know! If at your fitting you really are about to buy another, maybe throw a slip under it first. I'm sure it won't change the dress enough to compete with your other one but it might make you fall in love with it again! Good luck!!!!

Oh my goodness, you look SO beautiful in that dress! It's so hard to not have dress regret when you're constantly seeing photos of other dresses throughout the planning process, so I definitely feel for you. I'm so sorry that you're stressing about this on top of everything else.

While I know it is easier said than done sometime, please please please remember that a dress does not make you beautiful - YOU make a dress beautiful. If you're smiling and having a great time, you'll look gorgeous no matter what you're wearing.

I know I'm a little late to the party, but I hope your dress fitting went well yesterday and you were able to get the clarity you were looking for. Regardless of what dress you wear, I hope you have a beautiful wedding that is everything you dreamed it would be. Praying for you, girl!

I am further out about the wedding so I'm not sure if it's just anxious energy, but I can say it's easy to feel unsure when you see so many other beautiful dress options. I would say picking a new dress last minute could be really difficult because what if you pick a new one and then regret that one after? I mean at the very least you have had some time to envision yourself in your day being happy with the love of your life and you know how that will feel. Try to think about your favorite things about yourself instead of your perceived flaws (which are more of a flaw to you than anyone). I also recommend thinking of what you loved about the dress to begin with and really try to separate feelings of indecisiveness with your dress and the stress you have right now. No matter what when you walk in the room think to yourself damn I am beautiful and you will look amazing.
