I had some major alterations done to the top of my dress!! I liked my dress but didn’t really like the illusion neckline. I had some major alterations done to the top of my dress!! I liked my dress but didn’t really like the illusion neckline. It didn’t feel flattering on me and the way the sleeves were, I literally couldn’t lift my arms (a problem since my FH is a foot taller than me!) I was to the point where I was considering getting a new dress, which I hated bc my grandma found this dress for me and other than the neckline it was perfect. So I had several alteration appointments and this is the result! I love it. It feels more open and free and summery. I love the details of the way it’s cut out now, too. And now it’s unique and no one else has a dress exactly like mine. 😊
Anyways just wanted to share and say if you’re having any dress doubts, sometimes a few alterations are all you need to make it your own and love it again.😊❤️

    It was the lace that circled the sleeves. They also kept the little floating petals and flowers to sew back around the edges for some extra detail.

    You've totally just become my inspiration pic! I've got a strapless Oleg Cassini that is straight across the bust, and sweetheart will be much more flattering. I was also considering how to add straps to help hide my back fat at the very far edges. I'll have a fair amount of extra fabric after hemming, but even if they can't use the lace from that, I bet they can find some nice lace to do just what you've done. Thanks for sharing this, and if you have even more close-ups of the detailing, I'd just love to see it!
