Maintaining weight for the dress

For those of you that already had your dress altered and are postponing, whats your plan to make sure you still fit your dress months later?

My dress has already been altered and should be ready for pickup once shelter restrictions are lifted. I would be using my dress 6months from now. For me that feels like a really long time to stay consistent with a diet/exercise plan (of course its doable with the right motivation and technically eating healthy is supposed to be a lifestyle change but I usually fall off the wagon at times). Right now im currently still trying to lose a little weight because my midsection and arms are my problem areas, but heres my dilemma: Im worried about my lower body. I gain muscle in my lower body easily and im worried about getting bigger.
When I ordered my dress the size I ordered was a Designer size 12 (actually a 14) and my hips measurements were exact same as the size chart. I freaked out overnight and called the next morning to size up to the 14 (actually a 16). When I went to my fitting the size 14 fit perfectly on my hips and legs with NO wiggle room (meaning I must have gained). I dont know if theres any room to let the dress out just in case. Would adding a corset back help? I guess I could minimize my leg exercises but in general while exercising sometimes we use our legs alot.
But I was just wondering whats your plan and your backup plan just in case it doesn’t fit.

I would try doing exercises like planks, crunches and push ups that work more of your mid section and arms.
