Mailing Save the Dates

We sent ours in January for our October wedding. Word of advice: make sure your guest list is nailed down before you send anyone a save the date. If there are people who you aren't sure about, don't send them a save the date

We mailed out ours on May 1 and then sent out the rsvps on June 2. Our wedding is the last day in August. People don’t normally wait that long but we had our engagement photos in spring and it took time for the Save the Date Cards to be ready. Some people bugged us when they were going to get them but we just told them beginning of May. No need to explain why unless they ask. anyways I think normally people send theirs out at about 6 months prior to wedding date. I wouldn’t wait until 3 months before the wedding though. Hope this helps :-).

I'm getting married in May 2020 as well. We just sent out our STDs this past Sunday. I wanted to give all the people traveling from other states plenty of time. Also, we are getting married on a Friday so it gives them more time to get off work. I would send them out at least 8 months before the wedding but it doesn't hurt to send them earlier. Also one thing to consider is your guest list may change and once you send an STD, you pretty much have to invite them.

I’ll send ours out in August for our December 14th wedding.
