Mailing Save the Dates

Ayla, on July 21, 2021 at 2:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

We have our save the dates addressed, stamped, and ready to go out. I'm trying to determine if I can/should just drop them in a mail pick-up box, or bring them straight to the post office? I live in a city setting so it's a bit of a hassle to get to the post office usually, but can do if that's the best way.

Unless your save the dates are super bulky or would get damaged through transit, I don't see why you couldn't drop them off in a mail pick-up box!

We got postcard save the dates made and just put them in the pick-up box and we had no problems!

Drop off box should be just fine! Might take an extra day since they'll need to be picked up vs. already at the post office, but sounds like it's not a rush!

Ours are postcard style as well! Did you tie them all together or anything or just drop them loose?

I sent our Save & Change of the Dates from the local post office in my area. No issue getting them out. As for the invitations themselves I took them to Main Post Office for our area. And really the only reason there was because the Main Post Office has a later pickup time for same day postmarking.

As long as they are stamped and don’t need extra postage, go ahead and drop them in the mailbox.

As long as they are standard size and don't have any embellishments that make them non-machinable (sealing wax, etc.), then you should be fine dropping them in the mailbox!
