Call them. Not until January or February at the earliest.

I picked up the phone. My daughter I asked in person. The other 2 don't live in my city.

I plan to ask each of them individually and privately. I think elaborate "proposals" with gifts are just too over the top. I'm not proposing anything. I'm asking them to do me the honor of standing by my side as I marry the love of my life.

Not sure why it's sideways, but this is how I asked, with a hand written card that said "will you be my bridesmaid/maid of honor?"

I did a box, filled it with a robe, a travel nail kit and polish in my wedding colors (everyone is traveling for the wedding). I included a hand sanitizer in "dazzling diamond", and a mini bottle of wine.

My MOH box I added a large blue anchor and asked her to be my "mate of honor" since it matches the theme of her bedroom. I also gave her a hat since we go to the river a lot. (She loved it, I got a matching one. I'm not giving "bridesmaids" hats or shirts to anyone because they won't wear them again. She on the other hand would continue to wear hers after the wedding)

ETA- I asked them all in person before I gave them boxes

I got coffee mugs with their initials on them and am going to make cards to go with it (I am not going to ask until after the holidays). Two of the girls I want to ask live out of state so I am going to mail them the card. I'm not sure if I will give the coffee mug when I ask, just because I don't want them to feel pressured if they don't want to, just because I got them a gift.

I verbally discussed it with them first. For the actual gift asking, I gave each of them these cute bath bombs from Etsy, a bride tribe shot glass, and a mini bottle of champagne. For my MOH I also made up a golden ticket that said 'Maid of Honor' on it.

Via drunk text the night of my engagement.....

And now I completely regret it and am looking for ways to time travel to take it back. *eyeroll*

In all seriousness, For my MOH, I took her to a happy hour and told her. she was so happy she nearly cried. Love that woman.

My sister's are my MOH, and bridesmaids so I plan on giving them a nice little gift set with their favorites, proposal card, wine ect. I've seen some cute ones on Etsy. I plan on verbally asking my friends first before giving them a gift just in case, they can't.

I printed out piece of paper that said something like "Will you be my MOH, check yes or no" (with inappropriate language in between) and slapped it on my cousin's wet beer glass in the middle of a pretty empty bar on a Friday early afternoon. The whole thing was so comical, nobody around us had any idea what was going on and probably thought we were wasted at 1pm.
