Maid of Honor Proposals

Alyssa, on October 19, 2020 at 11:16 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 9
Hello everyone! I’m sure this has been asked multiple times, but I just don’t feel like scrolling through every form.🤷🏻‍♀️
Trying to think of a unique, but cost friendly way to “propose” to my maid of honor.
What are some neat ideas? Thanks!

My preference ( when asked) is no gifts, which are pressure to say yes. And a talk in person or on the phone, privately, to see if you have any conflicts , or if bride's plans involve time off work or money for travel and lodgings that make it impossible.

I just asked mine while we were having a hang out.

I agree that the proposal boxes add pressure to say yes, and also are just another way to get you to spend money.

I didn't want to get mine a gift box for the reason that I didn't want them to feel obligated to say yes, so I purchased custom puzzles (that only had like 6-7 pieces) that each said "Will you be my [bridesmaid/MOH]" on them. They were inexpensive, nothing that would make them feel compelled to say yes, fun for them to put together, and easy to mail (my bridesmaids live in four different states).

I used a puzzle to ask my MOH, I used a cookie to ask one of my bridesmaids, the rest we just were all out to dinner talking having a girls night and I asked them. Didn't want to put too much pressure on them to say yes with gifts even though I knew they would. Then I gave them all boxes full of things kind like a proposal box but the after effect.

I am just getting her a card and maybe a bottle of wine or champagne? Nothing too extravagant tho!

I found proposal items on Amazon. I made a proposal box out of these items.

I totally hear what everyone is saying about the proposal boxes as pressure to say yes. I did them anyway because all of my girls knew they were going to be asked. For the most part I'd already talked about it with them OR I had been in their wedding and they knew they would be in mine.

I bought pretty cardboard boxes on amazon ($11) that say "will you be my BM/ MOH," and filled them with some small trinkets - mini bottles of moscato/ chocolate bars for my two girls who are preggo, nail files, bracelets that I got on sale at a boutique, pretty pens with a fake diamond on top, and a ring pop. I also bought cards on etsy ($30 I think) and wrote each of them a nice message. Yes it cost me some money ($200 altogether for 6 boxes) but I did it because I wanted to and they loved them.
