Magic Mirror Photo Booth

AF412, on March 5, 2018 at 1:56 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

We are considering renting the Magic Mirror Photo Booth as opposed to the classic style photo booth.

Has anyone used the Mirror Style before that can share your experience?

How many hours do you think is enough? It looks like the standard packages are 4 hours.

Cocktail Hour is 6-7pm; Reception is 7-11

Do you think guests would use it during cocktail hour too to pass the time if we had it available there?

I saw one of these at a bridal show and I wanted one soooo much, but it was way more expensive so we went for a regular photo booth. I'd ask your venue, they may have experience with photo booths at their location and may be able to give better insight Smiley smile

I don’t know what a magic mirror photobooth is (haha) so I can’t give an opinion on that but we had a regular one at our wedding. We had it for three hours and it opened up after dinner - a vast majority of our guests used it (because we have the book)! I think four would be perfect. I’ve been to a wedding where they had one set up during cocktail hour and a bunch of people got drinks and headed directly to the photobooth. It was definitely an added bonus to cocktail hour.

Our DJ had one on display when we went to an open-house there. They are pretty easy to use, and have some interesting filters/etc. I think most people would enjoy one.

We were going to stick with a standard photo booth because of the cost, but have since decided to not do one at all.

My friend had one at her wedding and it was really nice !! However for the price I don’t think it was any more fun then a standard photo booth...

If you’re able to, it would be fun to have it from 6-10. Guests can enjoy it during cocktail hour as well as after dinner. I’m sure they’ll have a blast

I was introduced to this idea this past weekend while shopping for bridesmaids dresses with one of my bridesmaids. It seems like a pretty cool concept to me. I need to check with my venue to see if it’s an option for us.

I also saw one at a wedding expo and loved it so much we booked it. It was way more expensive than a normal photo booth, but what sold me was that it takes video at the end so our guests can leave us messages after they take a few pictures. We couldn't afford a videographer (at the experience level I would have wanted), so this option made me feel better about it. You can also write messages with your finger onto your picture.

I think photo booths are a know your crowd kind of thing and definitely a splurge for a lot of people. If it's in your budget for the mirror, I say go for it. If not, I think sticking with a normal photo booth is just as fun!

I've never heard of the mirror one before but just looked it up and it looks really cool!

We had our photobooth for 3 hours, which was their standard package. Reception was 7-11, and we had the booth open from 8-11. Our booth vendor said people don't really use it during cocktail hour because they want to eat and get a lot of drinks (which are the only pass-times you need during cocktail hour), and if you have it open before/during all your formalities, it can be a distraction. You don't want people in the booth when you're trying to have your first dance or whatever.

I thought of it and when I talked with vendors, it was on the expensive side. Another con for me was that someone had mentioned that wedding guests, get greasy/dirty fingers which messes up the mirror.

However, I think it's something new and if it allows for it in your budget why not give it a try?
