Madison Square Park... ceremony

Kandice, on September 4, 2019 at 9:30 AM Posted in New York Planning 0 2
Hi wedding buddies,
Im really trying to look into having a ceremony at Madison Square Park as it’s important to my fiancé and I. We’re planning a destination wedding in NYC with approx 40 guests. I know you can’t ‘reserve’ a spot per se, but does anyone have any idea how you can make it feel more like a ceremony, music, arch etc?
Does anybody know someone who has been married there with some feedback and photos?
Thanks in advance

You have to get a permit from the Parks department. I believe they have rules on what can and cannot be brought in - and it's a very short list that is allowed, if any at all.

You'll want to check NYC's websites.

    Start here, maybe?

Keep an eye on the guest limits, too. I know they have them for some spaces.

    Hey Kandice!

Rebecca gave some really great advice so it would certainly be a great idea to do your research into what is allowed before you commit to anything.

Have you found a venue for your reception?
