Low Guest Attendance

Our RSVP deadline was this past Saturday, and today we finally heard back from all of the remaining non-RSVPers. We invited 90 people and only 50 will be attending. That seems super low to me and I'm feeling kinda bummed about it. We expected to have 65-70 of the 90 guests actually attend, so now...

Our wedding was a little less traditional. We got married at San Francisco City Hall (it's beautiful.... still a real wedding), but the space our ceremony was in was kind of small. I had paid for 60 seats becuase thats what I was expecting - bridal party. When I walked down the aisle, I didn't even notice all the empty seats. I just saw my fiance.
Our reception was just a cocktail reception. Very mellow. Again, our space was not huge, so it never felt empty. Everyone there was having a lot of fun though. If we had a dance floor, I would imagine it probably would've been empty. I never felt like anything was missing though.
I'm sure you'll have an amazing time no matter what.

    I think 50 is perfect!

We invited 50 and I think we might get 40, maybe even 38 and we are totally ok with that! Is that terrible? We are so looking forward to celebrating, the more intimate, the better! Less $$ for us to spend!

I'm there with you! We invited 106, and figured 75-80 would come, however it's looking like 60-65 people. Our deadline is 9/15, but it still a bit sad that so many won't be able to come.

You will have a great time!! Your closest friends and family will be there with you. You will cherish the chance to spend quality time with your guests. It’s also nice that people RSVPed accurately and it will only help your budget. Enjoy your big day!

I'm kind of hoping we have a smaller than expected guest count! The less people, the less money we have to spend....and we'll still have a great time! Don't let it get you down :-)

We are inviting 100, our minimum, I am hoping for a little less however it won't save us money unfortunately lol But the room is fairly large and i am afraid of it looking so empty if a lot don't show

Honestly I'm jealous of you! I'm being forced to invite about 20 people that I don't care to (distant relatives that I don't speak to or have never met) When I first started I wanted 60, my list is 120 hoping for 80ish to actually attend (its destination and about half live a plane ride away). I think thats the perfect number and you'll save so much money. Most people I have talked to say they wish their wedding had been smaller. Maybe with your savings you can upgrade an element that you thought you wouldn't be able to afford? Like a band instead of a DJ? Or maybe a meal choice that was out of reach? Something fun to make it extra special, or just pocket the savings and laugh all the way to the bank! I'm sure your wedding will be amazing and no doubt it will be so special to those in attendance.

We invited 85 and will have probably about 50. It can seem like a bummer, but just remember the people who will be there love you and the smaller the crowd the more time you can have to spend with people (and the cheaper the wedding hahaha)

We invited 100, and have 60 coming. At the deadline, I still had a lot of outstanding RSVP's and had to email people, and there's still some I never heard from. It was pretty disappointing. Now a week before, some of the "yes" guests are begging off, because the kids have karate practice, or a football game or whatever. :/
I'm going to try and focus on those who are there, but it really burns me that people bothered saying yes (and I paid for) and now they are going to run their usual Saturday errands.
