Love note vs vows (first touch)

We are doing a “First Touch” instead of first look.
I always see couples reading stuff, are they reading their vows that they will say to eachother at the ceremony or something different?

For our pics/video, I was reading a card from my husband that came with my wedding gift. Same for him.

I plan on giving my FH a personalized book that talks about the story of us. We’re not doing a 1st look but our photographer has some awesome ideas for the 1st touch. Not sure how I’m going to get my present to him...
