love / hate your dress

Don, on January 11, 2020 at 3:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 32
To all my fellow 👰 brides, who already have your dresses, do you love your dress one week and hate it the next, many of you have complimented my dress, for which I thank you! Perhaps because my wedding is still 13 months away, I start to think there's something more beautiful awaiting me, why am I doing this to myself? When I bought my dress I was POSITIVE I had my dream 👗 dress, Stella York style 6979 if any of you ladies care to see it!! Girls, if any of you have felt like this, how did you get past it? Why can't I just be happy with my dress?

Stop looking at dresses. Easier said than done, but there are a billion beautiful dresses and you could love a ton of them. I changed my mind because a part of me felt like I picked too fast; it's easy to get lost in dress regret because there are so many options. I also do feel like I would have regretted that ballgown because it was a symbol of me thirty pounds heavier. Buuuut dress regret is also anxiety over a huge decision. You picked your dress for a reason! Maybe you need to try it on again.

Duh! Because we want tons of dresses on so many are beautiful lol. Your feeling is normal. I am thinking with months to go I might change my dress. You will look beautiful no matter what. : ) Dress regret is a bit normal I feel.

I always love my dress, but at times I kinda wish I kept looking or got something else. I’m wearing a cape instead of a veil (On my profile) and that makes me nervous because I feel like people will think it’s super weird lol. I actually had to go back and try it on again, and I might be adding some poof to it to make it more of an A line. Trying it back on can help a lot. I also had to stop looking at other dresses!

I just went to my first fitting and honestly I hate my dress! I had a medical issue that caused me to gain weight for one so I hate how it looks on me. Plus I tried it on in bright white which I loved but the consultant talked me into ivory because he said bright white photographs as blue so ivory would be better, we’ll fast forward to seeing my dress and I hate the color, it just looks dirty. I’m so sad because I was so in love with my dress and now I’m not excited at all to wear it. I’m hoping I can lose some weight before the wedding and that at my next fitting I’ll feel better. But short answer is it’s normal to feel that way, just focus on the positive! That’s what I’m trying to do.

I absolutely love my dress but I do look at other dresses and wish I had tried them on/ think that others might look better. I’ve always had trouble finding dresses I like though, and when I tried this one on I just knew it was for me. I usually can’t decide at all! So I just remind myself of that 😊 I never hate my dress though, just think about all the other beautiful dresses out there. Just remember, when you tried your dress on you loved it and felt beautiful which is why you bought it. When you put it on again, you’ll feel the same way!

I totally understand how you feel. I look at women on Instagram and think, omg I wish I had chosen THAT dress. But I love my dress and it works for me. That’s what I remind myself.
I think your dress is absolutely stunning. The back alone is breathtaking. 💕

I feel this! I switch from loving it to hating it minute to minute it seems- you just have to trust that on the day with your hair/nails/accessories that it will all come together and you will be one beautiful bride!

I purchased my dress in April 2017 for my October 2020 and I still get giddy when I see my dress. I've NEVER had second thoughts because of how it made me feel when I put it on initially. I'm in love with it and can't wait to put it on, on my wedding day.

My dress is charcoal. I question why didn't I go traditional or black?
I remind myself that I tried on 2 white dresses and HATED them. Absolutely everything about them.
I wanted gray. I wanted something a little different from my daily black uniform. Then I try to forget about dresses.

Yes! I changed my mind, bought another dress, returned said dress, picked original dress and now I stopped looking at dresses all together. I think what didn’t help was that my grandma and dad cried when I showed them. My dress is plain but overall I love it.

I agree don’t look at the dress because you’ll second guess yourself about everything... wedding planning is already stressful be surprised with everyone else by not looking at it. I actually had the company store my dress until the alterations because I know this dress is what I dreamed of! And don’t look at other dresses!
