Louisville Bachelorette Suggestions

K2020, on October 25, 2019 at 2:36 PM Posted in Kentucky Planning 0 12

I am having a bachlorette weekend in Louisville, KY the weekend of May 22-24, 2020. This is far in advance, but I was wondering if anyone has general or specific suggestions for this?

I was thinking maybe go out to the bars Friday night, do some sort of activity during the day Saturday, and then return on Sunday. We rented an Airbnb to stay in during this time. '

If anyone has suggestions or recommendations, this will definitely be helpful in planning!

If any of you are baseball fans, you could go to the Louisville Slugger Museum!

If you're into bourbon (even just a little), the distillery tours are amazing! Jim Beam is 35 minutes south of Louisville, and there are plenty of others nearby. Maker's Mark is also gorgeous, if you're able to get down there. The Bourbon Trail has a website with tons of info on the distilleries in various parts of Kentucky. https://kybourbontrail.com/
Depending on what you're looking for, the Louisville Slugger museum and Churchill Downs are also fun for "low-key" daytime activities.

Get super fun derby hats, and cute dresses and spend Saturday afternoon at Churchill Downs. May is one of the few months it’s open for live racing. You guys would get great pics!
We like Highland Morning for brunch and Frankfort Ave Beer Depot for lunch/dinner. Big Four bridge is fun to walk and get pics. There are tons of bars and great restaurants- have fun, we love weekends in Louisville!

My MOH lives in Louisville and there are about 8 of us traveling down this weekend for my bachelorette party! I don't know what all she has planned but I do know we are going to Churchill Downs and Flying Axes.
I'll update you when we get home 😊😊

No bachelorette parties at gay bars! In conservative areas of the country, gay people have so few safe spaces-why would you take up their space??

As a gay person, I don't need to be educated on taking up gay spaces. Louisville has a thriving LGBTQ community and plenty of safe spaces. Most "gay bars" (and this one in particular) are centered around inclusivity, not segregation. I've never been to this club and not seen a bachelorette party, I'm positive that they appreciate the profit that they generate.

My MOH lives there, so we went there for my Bach Party!
Highly suggest hitting the bars on 4th street (as bride my cover was waved at several, and a few waved the cover for my MOH as well). Also Hughlh suggest going to PLAY as well. It's has a phenomenal drag show, and awesome dance floor. Before heading home we went to Flying Axes which is super fun too!

I am queer as well and while I am not familiar w/ Louisville, I do travel for work all over the U.S, and have been to hundreds of gay bars in most major cities. I see the same thing almost everywhere - gay bars/clubs flooded w/ bachelorette parties to the point where it has become suffocating and has changed the whole vibe of these places. Most of the regulars are not happy about it.

I was in So Cal a few months ago and the three main gay bars in Palm Springs were 70% filled w/ bach. parties!! Similar situation in W. Hollywood. When it gets to that point, the gay bar becomes someone's private bach. party and not the gay bar it is supposed to be and that sucks. Have the party at home at that point or rent a hall.

The irony is that some women say that the gay community is being exclusionary or discriminating in not wanting these parties in but these women are doing the exact same thing!! They are going to gay bars so they won't be around straight men. They go, expecting that straight men will be excluded. Fine. But the patrons at the gay bars want these bach parties excluded so they can go back to having a gay bar!

In any case, if you go to a gay bar, you expect it to be at least 50% gay. If not, what's the point? Just go to the local bro and ho bar or Hooters.
