LOTR Marathon

His&Hers, on October 1, 2016 at 11:22 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 21

Every year, my FH and his friends do a 24 hour movie marathon. They watch all of the hobbit and LOTR movies. No naps or pausing allowed. This is the first one I am taking part in. (Never seen any of them) Wish me luck. Anybody else do anything like this? Or have their own tradition?

He's pretty cute though. He has maps and books and decor for it. They research things a long the way. A few more people here who didn't make it in the picture. My FH is on the corner of the couch.

I am a huge nerd hahahah I frequently binge watch all of the LOTR, Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc. And went to the midnight shows. My FH had never seen ANY of them, so I have to rectify that, so I drug him to stand in line when Episode 7 came out, and we binged the entire Harry Potter series one weekend with his son.

You've never seen ANY?! I just.. it's hard to believe lol. FH and I love it all so much we're incorporating some stuff into our wedding.

It's funny because I'm currently doing this right now. I watched all 3 hobbit movies during the week, currently half way through the fellowship. I watch through them all every so often, they never get old.

I want to include some stuff from the movie in the wedding for him. I keep seeing a sign that says something about a ring and a wedding and I kinda like it. I just want to make sure it's actually in the movie and worded the same. If anybody knows when that will be lol or what I'm talking about I'd appreciate the insight.

We'll have something similar to the sign on Bilbo's gate outside our venue, our bar area will be called the Green Dragon, I want to wear an Evenstar pendent - I have so many other ideas. Search Etsy and Pinterest and you'll gain tons of inspiration for LotR/woodland wedding decor. I'm trying reeeaaally hard to keep it subtle, some stuff I've seen is too much and borders on tacky. Hope you enjoy the movies!

I saw a meme on Facebook I shared the other day, where the preacher started reading the passage from LOTR, one ring to rule them all, and they were like wrong book. It was cute. I'm at work so my computer won't let me upload it. -_-

If I were you I would skip the Hobbit movies and join in when LOTR starts. The Hobbit trilogy pales in comparison to the LOTR trilogy.

We do a LOTR marathon once a year. We also do a Harry Potter Marathon at least once a year as well. Haven't done a hobbit one though.

Like Bea said, skip the hobbit one. Watch the LOTR! I also fall asleep with hobbit movies and I am such a LOTR fun.

To make you understand, hobbit is such a tiny little book that they made into three long movies. At the first LOTR, they will explain everything again.

Awesome!! Hopefully they are extended versions. They cut out some important information in the regular version.

Um I love LOTR! Me, FH, and his friend once watched one every weekend and played a drinking game we found online. It was so much fun.

We saw all 7 Star Wars movies when the most recent came out in theaters.

We have a tradition of watching lotr trilogy during the first major snow storm. The hobbit hasn't factored in yet.
