Lost

Kyra, on November 4, 2020 at 8:11 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hi Ladies ! I am in need of some desperate advice & please don’t have my head 😅 we planned our wedding for next year but when covid was on the rise & talks were in the works of having to book vendors when I was out of a job we decided to move it out to 2023 hoping the world would bounce back $$ well now with the world changing again and possibilities of shut downs, I have such a fear that our venue will not be able to re open & yes they have a deposit from us. Am I being over dramatic ?? My fiancé & I have spoken & if the country shuts down we are planning to have a micro back yard wedding. Because we truly think our venue won’t be able to come back. What does this consist of, am I being dramatic ? I am so lost I just don’t know what to do 😪 please help!

No, many people are worried about this. I would worry too.

I don’t think you are being dramatic. I think you have every right to worry, we are all honestly playing things by ear we have no idea how things will go or if Covid will have a second shut down.

I think you should stop wasting your time worrying about things that are completely out of your control. It won’t change anything about your situation other than negatively effect your well-being. My best advice is to hope for the best, plan for the worst and just wait to see what happens

2023 is so far away! I wouldn’t worry about it just yet... but if it’s going to stress you out, I would definitely just cancel and do the backyard wedding!! That’s a super long engagement and I couldn’t imagine spending it stressed out not knowing!!!
    Best wishes 🤍

I wouldn’t stress about it look at it with a silver lining. Yes if the place goes under you may loose your deposit which sucks of course but at least you have plenty of time to make alternate plans since the wedding is not until 2023

September 2023 is SO far away. I would not stress about something that is a little less than 3 years away. If you are that concerned about it, I would ask for a refund and move on with your micro-wedding. But again, in 2023, the pandemic might be over and we can move on with life as "normal".

Sending you lots of virtual hugs Kyra!! It's such a stressful time so I understand your worries, but 2023 is a loooong time away! No matter how quickly 2020 has gone, you've still got tons of time for things to turn around and you definitely shouldn't spend that time worrying about the worst case scenario!

On the other hand if you want to do a micro-wedding sooner - go for it! Smiley heart Plenty of couples are still tying the knot now even if they're postponing the party and wedding reception!
