Lost rings

Alex, on October 13, 2021 at 8:46 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6
I just got engaged and my fiance and I went to find my ring size and resize my engagement ring. The company I went to lost my engagement ring and want us to still purchase the wedding set. AITA for saying no and we should be refunded for cost spent?

....they lost the ring and want you to eat the cost of that ring and also spend more money with them? Yeah, that's....wrong. Tell them they need to give you the money for the ring they lost or you're taking them to small claims court.

NTA. They should cover the cost of the lost ring and you shouldn’t feel bad about not wanting to do further business with them.

It sounds like they are trying to scam you. Definitely fight for your money back or get a lawyer involved.

If they lost your ring, they need to reimburse you for it! This is why companies have insurance

Let me make sure I understand the logistics here, because it's not written very clearly.

I assume that you have a wedding set - that is, a set that includes the engagement ring and wedding band(s) for one price. Perhaps on credit?

You brought the engagement ring portion to them for resizing and they lost it. Now they think you should still pay the full price for the set, even though one component of it has been lost by their company.

Absolutely not. They need to refund the entire amount.

Definitely get reimbursed for your ring and find somewhere else to shop!
