Has anyone ever lost there pre wedding license? I know they usually don’t make copies, what did you do?

    I would reach back out to the Recorder of Deeds (or wherever you got your licenses) and let them know. You maaaay have to pay for a new one, or they may just make another since they likely have record that you filed for a license anyway.

    I would call the office you got it from. I know my county clerk doesn’t do replacements and I would have to pay for a new one if I lost mine.

    In cases of lost marriage licenses it is my understanding that you need to go to the courthouse that originally issued your marriage license and pay for a duplicate copy. Some county courthouses will provide duplicate copies provided you satisfy their requirements.

    In LA County, we have to pay for a new marriage license if we lose, crumple, or even if our witnesses sign the wrong spot.
