Lost Invites

Kelly, on September 10, 2019 at 2:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 12
Did anyone else have a problem w/ lost invites? 1x person sent FH a message on Saturday that he just received his invite but he could sell that there were problems with USPS (there were a few stamps on it from USPS). We followed up w/ a handful of people after - asking if they received their invite & they all said no. The majority of them are also coming. So we asked them to RSVP online (as the date is coming up - and I need their food option) and resent the invite only.

I also checked their addresses & the addresses were correct.

I haven't had this issue specifically, but USPS is TERRIBLE in my area. Constantly mixing up all of the mail in our neighborhood or completely missing houses regularly. I'm glad you were able to get ahold of your guests!

We had 2 Invites returned. Same address as the Save the Dates so we know it was right. It could be the font of the address on the envelope.

USPS is terrible in our neighborhood too. It's a good thing I've made it a point to meet and have a cordial relationship with all of my close neighbors, as we are constantly getting each other's mail, and having to run it over to the correct neighbor.

When it comes time to send my invitations, I'm going to keep track with my relatives/friends, to make sure everyone receives them. I just can't trust USPS, but there's no other way to get the invites out there.

I didn't get any returned, but when I called one of the guests who hadn't RSVP'd, he said he never got the invitation. (He has two different addresses and splits his time between the two places). I told him that I mailed it to the address I had, and that it didn't come back as undeliverable, but he mentioned that that particular address is not a serviced mail point.

We are 4 weeks out, and I had to send another invitation to his other address.

I'm still waiting on the invitation from my best friend's wedding. Since she got married in 2011 and I've moved 3 times since, I begin to believe I'm never going to receive it . . .

USPS is usually pretty good in my area, but I had 2x invites returned for wrong address (it was the same address that was used for the save the dates, but they could have changed) but more so it took over a month to get them returned. I think that’s insane.

Same thing happened to us, but I think their address did change. Still it took over a month to receive them returned. You might be right about the font, it was script but readable - but you never know how their systems read them.

I’ve had to mail like 5x invites out. I’m asking everyone to RSVP either w/ me or online but they still need a physical invite. I’m all out of detail cards tho - so I crafted a letter from an invite template on word and am including that with the invite.

Oh no - I hope that invited you another way. Hmm I wonder if lost invites hang out w/ lost socks.

She called me because I hadn't rsvp'd lol. It actually makes sense that they'd hang out with the lost socks! I love it!

We had problems with the STDs and with several invites, as well.

We even made sure to have them processed by hand... didn't matter. Some of the STDs that came back said, "not a valid address"... but it was! Even in the system!

USPS is not nearly as good as it should be.

USPS isnt good in my area I get all my neighbors mail the worst thing is I feel like I'm the only one that brings the mail over to the other houses like if they are getting my mail I've never gotten a knock or anything in my mailbox as it needs key access.
