Losing My Mind!

Candace, on September 22, 2020 at 9:24 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
So this evening, my fiancé and I were talking about the wedding that is 32 days away. I told him I was very thankful that we have enough time between the ceremony and reception for photos. My fiancé says, “ I don’t know why you think that.” And I said “well Bc we got a noon wedding time, that really helps us out.” He looked at me confuse and said, “Our wedding is at one.” I told him no, it was at noon. That he told me when he called the priest to verify times for the wedding and rehearsal dinner. And when he told me noon, I went ahead and made our invitation, and I had him look them over. And he agreed that the time and date was correct and we mailed them out. He is now telling me that he never said that and that the priest called him and told him our wedding is at one. I have no idea what we’re going to do if the priest can’t move the wedding up to noon. Had anyone else ever experienced this? I knew I should have done this myself.

If the priest can't move the wedding up to noon, I suggest you mail out an Update card to your guests to notify them of the time change. Also call/text/email/reach out on social media/etc to make sure the word is spread around. The good news is, anyone who doesn't remember about the change in time will end up showing up early for the wedding, instead of an hour late. Hopefully the priest can just move the wedding to noon though!

I can call him, but I’m working the next two days and my fiancé works from home so he’s going to have to explain the mix up and see what he can do. If the priest can’t move it to noon, then my fiancé better be ready to send out a text to everyone. Unfortunately we do not have enough time to make date changes.

Girl I hope so as well. Because that also means I need to change times with my stylist, florist and photographer. Just very frustrated at this point.

It's a good thing you had that conversation now! I'm sure it will all work out. There aren't too many conflicting events happening at this time.

Oh no!! Do you have a signed contract or email communication where you nailed down the start time? I'd definitely get in touch with the priest ASAP to see if you can move the ceremony to noon!!
