Losing my dad

Ok about to get emotional on everyone... right now I am 49 days til my wedding and I'm sitting in ICU with my dad intubated, on a vent, and sedated. The outlook is not good and even if he pulls through he will have many permanent deficits and a long road and will not be there at my wedding. My dad is such a special light in my life. And while I'm close with my family he just gets me in a way the rest dont... I dont know how I'm supposed to get through it with him not there and it still being so fresh. He was fine totally fine and in less than a week our world was ripped to shreds and turned upside down. He was so excited to be walking me down the aisle and dancing with me, this is not how it was supposed to be....

    My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry you're facing this, especially during a time you are supposed to be filled with joy and anticipation. There are no words any of us can say to make you feel better, but I hope it helped a little to get some of those emotions out and know people are here to listen (or read).

    Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. There is so much uncertainty going on right now with what we are facing. To all of you I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Life can change so fast, never take your relationships for granted.

    I am so sorry that you are going through this. I was in your same position 8 years ago and I know it's an extremely difficult time. I'm sorry you have to go through this in what is supposed to be a season of joy. Sending all my thoughts and prayers for you. Hang in there girl, we're all always here

    I’m so sorry you are going through this. I pray he pulls through. Same thing happened to me May 10 of this year. My father was fine and then all of a sudden he was in the hospital and intubated and sedated. However, my father didn’t pull through. I’ll be praying for you guys.

    I am so sorry to hear this and I wish I had the words to help... have you thought about putting your wedding dress on and getting pictures with your dad? I know it may not be how you would want to remember him, but maybe that would make you feel just the slightest bit fulfilled in a way. Have a photographer come in, and play the song that you picked to dance to. I hope and pray that everything works out for you!! Praying for you and your dad!!
