Lose weight before shopping

Unless you plan on getting a "designer" dress, I think giving yourself at least 8 months will be just fine. The past brides I've known got dresses less than $1,000, and they came in within 3-4 months. I just bought mine this past Saturday and it'll only take a month to come in! You have plenty of time

You have more than enough time, you have to feel good about you or you wont feel as beautiful as you want to when you try on dresses.

I got my dress at David’s Bridal, they quoted me about 2.5 months for delivery, and it arrived in 3 weeks. You have time, for sure, but I’d definitely look sooner rather than later just in case the dress you choose takes longer to come in. I don’t see a problem with December or January. People typically suggest 8-10 months beforehand, so that’s almost perfect.

I would look 8-10 months out at the latest. I looked 10-12 months out at 3 salons, ordered my dress, then lost 15 lbs in between my second and third fitting. It was easy to fix.

It's too early to go now! Lots of brides that buy their dress over a year away end up regretting their choice. I'd wait until end of January/early February that way you'll have a lot of dresses to choose from since most take 6 months to come in and you'll have some extra time to work towards your goals!
