Summer 2021 Los Angeles Brides

Angela, on March 5, 2021 at 1:31 PM Posted in California Planning 3 18

Hi Brides! I was hoping to get some advice my wedding is scheduled for August 28,2021 in LA, which is one of the strictest area. Currently the hotel said they are not allowing any wedding or receptions but thinks this can change in April. Just wanted to see if other brides in LA are experiencing the same thing. I'm optimistic by August LA should have opened up more. Would love to get other people thoughts. I really do not want to move my wedding day again.

Thank You

We are 8/7/21 and are hoping and praying that vaccinations will ramp up soon. This is wp2, we had a mini wp1 8/8/20. We are still planning. We are also getting married in LA county.

We are trying to stay positive! I am hoping things will get better but planning on looking into a backup plan in late April if they don’t get better.

We have our wedding scheduled for July 17th. We are praying and hoping that rules ease up a bit. We have our reception outdoors so hopefully by then they’ll allow us!
May odds be in our favor! Stay positive!

I have high hopes that we will be able to have a "normal" wedding... with a dance floor, cocktail hour with passed hors d' oeuvres and cake cutting! Our chosen venue doesn't allow those right. They did say there's a huge chance things will return normal next monthSmiley smile.

Congrats! It's been pretty hectic for any bride and adding a pandemic is pure chaos. We are having our wedding this July from postponing last summer. I am trying to be as optimistic as possible, but LA Times posted an article saying that even in tier yellow that wedding receptions are banned (indoor or outdoor). It's a hard pill to swallow when I see so many things are opening. I am trying to be positive and hopeful. But, also looking into my own research. Attaching the article below.

Our date is 7/4/21 but our venue us indoors in LA County. Last I spoke with them they said things MIGHT be open right by then, but it wasn't a guarantee for us so we decided we're going to postpone to next year during the same weekend instead. We're in the process of postponement now trying to figure it all out. Plus with only our venue and photographer being booked and nothing else, we decided to just push the date and have less stress trying to book everything and focus on house hunting for now. It seems like things are starting to open up and I have high hopes for everyone this summer! If theme parks can open, they should start being more lenient with weddings.

Awesome! May I ask where you are getting married? LA County? We are in Santa Barbara-- no guidelines yet-- only thing that worries me is that the blueprint to open the economy does not have any updates at all for weddings in all four tiers! Hoping we get guidance sooN!

Yes we are getting married at the Ritz Carlton in Marina De Rey. When I spoke with then at the end of February, they said they are not allowed to have events but hopefully will change by April. I was going to call the beginning of April.

Did your venue confirm you can have an indoor reception? Did they limit guest count?

    Thank you for sharing =)

There was a wedding there last week, everything was outdoor. They converted the ceremony space to reception area during the cocktail hour.

For my wedding, they can't confirm anything, they follow state policies.

Same here. We're getting married August 6th and our venue is moving forward as of right now in hopes that we'll be good to go. We're really hoping we don't have to change the date.

Does it say how far in advance people need to get tested? like is it 72 hours prior?

I haven’t been able to find any details about testing requirements, but that is my guess. Maybe check with your venue to see what they are requiring.
