The challenge; decorating two outdoor pavilions to fit a "Shire" or elven/nature feel. So far we have booked the rental of bengaline-ivory linen for 22 tables with krinkle brown runners. The tables will have a long run of greenery booked from the florist and we have tons of little gold votive candles with flickering LED lights to spread out along the greenery (our colors are red and gold). His father is cutting slabs of cherry oak wood that we are going to put polyurethane on to shine and those will be the center pieces with dual purpose lanterns on the wood slabs (moving the lanterns from along the benches at the gazebo after the ceremony and from what the girls carry down the isle to the tables during seating/pictures). We also have little wooden place card holders for the tables and plan to name the tables bases on various villages/land names from middle earth along with chess pieces that are figures from lord of the rings to add a bit more of the theme to the tables.
We also have signs such as "please choose a seat not a side we are a fellowship here" and all the notable hobbit meals to place by the buffet (turkey legs and dark stout/ale for the win!). Not sure if this will let me embed pics but will try to give a better visual.
Now that I've listed what we have the struggle comes in the rest of the pavilion decor and the newly added free second pavilion for dancing. How would you recommend decorating the pillars? We were thinking of hanging large medieval family crest banners that are red and gold bit struggling something fierce to find this. We debated the long hanging greenery with colored flowers too...and we still can't find the right size/price for lanterns and the cost to rent matches buying. Any advise would be super helpful and I appreciate any time and energy spent responding.
Sincerely,
Jen
