Looks like I'm actually getting a honeymoon to Orlando...sorta!

FH and I weren't planning on having a honeymoon, but we were going to have a family vacation during the summer. Well after talking about it we decided to move the family vacation up to Spring Break. Our wedding is March 14 and spring break is the week of March 23rd so close enough to be considered a honeymoon! Although it will be shared by 12, 14 and 17 year old boys. 😁 So sorta a honeymoon, but more chaotic. Lol We have decided to do Orlando, Florida with most of our trip centered around Universal Studios (my kids are big Harry Potter fans!). We actually don't think we will even go to Disney World at all. Thinking doing all the Universal parks, Sea World and Kennedy Space center. Anyone have any non Disney recommendations for that area?? And if you've stayed at Universal do you have any tips? Hoping we can have some sort of romantic time but the oldest boy is autistic so we have to be flexible.

The first time I did Orlando, it was a girls trip, and we skipped the Disney Parks. We did hit up Disney Springs for bar hopping. We also hit up City Walk for that too. Both Disney Springs and City Walk have some great dining and drink options.

Make sure you take time to yourselves no matter what you do. The boys should be able to stay in the hotel room by themselves for you to have a private dinner or escape to the pool alone a few times!

There is Orlando eye, WonderWorks, The Wax museum. There is also Crayola Experience, in that same mall you have Carlo's Bakery anex from Cake Boss. Disney spring has a lot of shops for all ages, Raglan Road Irish Pud is my favorite restaurant, the have live music and dancing show, but you would need reservations.
March is still hot, so make sure to carry water with you.
    Hope helps.

I recently moved to Orlando, and I don't have a Disney pass, so here are some non-disney recommendations!
Nona Adventure park - they have a ropes tower, lake obstacle course and water skiing
Treetrek - a 3 hr ropes course through the trees
Paddle boarding or rent a pontoon/sailboat at Lake Fairview - reasonable prices and a lovely lake
Cocoa beach is pretty nice if you’re going to Kennedy

Check out Jimmy Hulas at Winter Park for some awesome unique tacos!

We did Orlando with our 3 boys last month and it was awesome! We were supposed to do a Disney cruise but Dorian hit so we did Universal instead. We got a suite so the boys had a room and we had our own so we still got grown up time when they went to bed or were playing games.
We're getting married during spring break in Fort Myers Beach so our honeymoon-ish time will be with the boys as well.
Hope you have a great time! Smiley smile

I live in Orlando and have a Universal Annual Pass. Orlando Informer is a great website for park tips. At Universal, if you stay in one of the "top 3" hotels you get a free express pass for everyone registered, which will be a HUGE help during spring break. Those are Hard Rock, Portofino, and Royal Pacific. They all have a water taxi to the park. I've never done it, but I've also heard the Club Level upgrade is awesome because you get meals and snacks included, which might be helpful with teenagers (but you do have to go back to the hotel). Sapphire Falls and Cabana Bay are awesome cheaper onsite options, but no express passes (and no water taxi from Cabana). Even if you get express passes, go through the full lines for Gringotts and Forbidden Journey the first time because the line is a huge part of the experience!
