Hi everyone! My fiancé and I are getting legally married ahead of our destination wedding, and I could use some help making both events meaningful and unique without feeling repetitive.
This winter, we'll be having an intimate pre-ceremony with just our immediate family (14 people) on Long Island, where my brother will officiate. Afterward, we'll either do lunch or dinner, depending on the timing. Then, in the spring, we're heading to a destination for a symbolic ceremony with a larger group, followed by a formal reception and weekend events to create a memorable experience for our guests.
I’m struggling with two things:
Finding a pre-ceremony venue: We need a cozy spot for 14 people that can host the ceremony and a meal afterward in December on Long Island.
Making both ceremonies feel special: How can we ensure that both the pre-ceremony and the destination wedding feel unique and meaningful, without it seeming like a repeat for us or our guests?
Has anyone planned a similar wedding with a pre-ceremony and destination event? Any tips or ideas on how to make both occasions stand out?
Thanks so much for your help!
