Looking for a venue -- 120 guests, $10K budget. Hors d'oeuvres only options?

Hi everyone,

I'm searching for a venue that is in my budget ($10k) and I'm hoping that you might have some suggestions.

I live in Broward, but am willing to go down to Miami or up to West Palm to find the right place.

What I'd like most is an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception.

The most important aspect of the reception is the open bar. To cut down on the cost, I am willing to skip the full dinner and simply do heavy hors d'oeuvres if I can find a place that does such a thing. I hear some restaurants have the option to do hors d'oeuvres only, but I'm having a hard time finding them online.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Agree with Erin. I passed by Volunteer park on Saturday (one of the venues I mentioned earlier in this post). There was a wedding taking place on the lawn and it was 91 degrees outside at the time and a thunderstorm on it's way. I felt bad for the guests just sitting there waiting for the ceremony to start. Don't do that to your guests OP.

If you can't do that, consider changing the time if wedding, maybe the day (Thursday or Friday instead of Saturday) and look at cutting down your guest list

@5starfuturemalcolm -- Thanks for the tips! Gallupi's is on my list of places to visit. Right now I am really loving the Spanish River Library in Boca, but I would need to find outside catering for a reasonable price.

After looking at my guest list, I've realized that 115 are invited and probably only about a 100 will show up. I think that will make this somewhat more doable.

And I agree that August is miserable in Florida. I thought it would be okay for a short outdoor ceremony and indoor reception, but if I do entirely outdoor, I will likely push the wedding to October/November.

Good luck! Regarding the outdoors, consider other factors such as the afternoon thunderstorms. Hurricane season, etc. It's not just the heat to worry about.

August outdoor anything in FL is not wise.

Its hot as all get out, humid and rains each (at least 2 out of 3) afternoon/evening.

Also if it does rain earlier in the day for a chance its gonna be humid.

Its less than 20-30 min for you but your guests will likely arrive at least another 30 min early expanding their time outside to upwards of an hour. Which in formal wear, sucks.

Have you looked into Flamingo Gardens. Speak to Michelle McBride and tell her you were referred by Alfredo at Couture Bridal Photography. Its a nice venue just not ideal during the summer months...
