looking for a cheap but good photographer

Thanks everyone for the tips I did check out thumbtack and I found a professional photographer on there who will charge me less than 1300 with taxes, and he is willing to work with me. We can get an engagement session, 7 hours, rights to our photos, and hes been in business 18 years. His portfolio looks great and we get 2 photograpers and has great reviews and is very outgoing. So thank you everyone for the tips.

Tbh, I'm sure those who told you that photographers are worth the huge price could say "told you" also when you get your pictures back. Skimping on this is just never a good idea unless you really don't care about photography.

I think you could probably say "told you" about any pictures ever. What really matters is if they turn out how the bride/groom wanted them to.

I'm happy with my photographer. And, people are happy with their 5k photographers. And I don't understand really how these feelings can't coexist.

Cheap hardly ever = good. May luck be in your favor.

Rachel if you allow as many vendors to respond, brides and grooms will get pelted with 20 responses and only 3 are qualified. I'm good with the 5.

Since you're so far out start emailing your local photographers about specials they run in the off season (not summer) and pay up front for it. Theyre a lot more likey to get you a discounted rate if you do something like that? We booked a year and a half out and we only paid $750(upfront) for 5 hours plus 10% off anything we ordered prints and such.
